We focus on
where symptoms startInsights for Digestive Health
Common symptoms:
Our comprehensive analysis provides insights into beneficial and harmful microbial activities in your gut and can help identify any signs of inflammation. Chronic inflammation can damage the intestinal lining and increase the risk of digestive disorders. We look at the richness and diversity of your microbiome and identify any imbalances affecting your digestion.
By understanding the microbial activity in your gut, we can help you make targeted dietary changes to improve your digestive health. Our recommendations aim to improve nutrient absorption, boost microbiome diversity, and promote gut lining health.
Insights for Energy & Performance
Common symptoms:
Our test provides valuable insights into your energy and physical performance by analyzing the health of your cellular function. Symptoms like fatigue, weakness, low stamina, and endurance can indicate a lack of cellular nutrition or suboptimal cellular functioning.
Cells that lack the nutrition they need can't keep up with the body's metabolic demands, leading to a loss of function that is often the earliest measurable indicator of aging and health decline. Our analysis looks at the aging of your cells and factors like cellular stress, inflammation, and mitochondrial health to identify any cellular health issues that may be affecting your energy levels and physical performance.
Insights for Brain Health & Mood
Common symptoms:
The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in the development of our brain and nervous system, as well as the management of neurological functions like mood and memory. Our test's insights into brain and mood health are designed to give you a comprehensive view of how your microbiome impacts your cognitive and emotional well-being.
We analyze your microbial activity to identify imbalances affecting your brain health, mood, concentration, and mental clarity. Our analysis looks at specific microbial activities that contribute to the production of serotonin and GABA, neurotransmitters that play a critical role in regulating mood and anxiety. By identifying pathways, like the ones to support serotonin and GABA production, we can make targeted dietary recommendations to boost your mood and cognitive function.
Insights for Immune Health
Common symptoms:
Our test's insights into immune system health are designed to help you understand how your microbiome impacts your body's immune response, including your body’s preparedness to fight off bad viruses and bacteria, ability to clear toxins, and management of oxidative stress.
In addition, we analyze your body's ability to clear toxins from the gut, manage oxidative stress, and address pro-inflammatory activity, which is critical for maintaining overall health and supporting your immune system. Our nutrition recommendations support your body's alarm system and repair mechanism, helping optimize your immune system health.
Insights for Oral Health
Common symptoms:
Your oral health is an important indicator of your overall health, as your mouth is the gateway to your body. The health of your oral microbiome impacts many other systems in your body, including your cardiovascular, immune, bone, and brain health.
Our test provides insights into the activities of microbes in the mouth that contribute to gum inflammation, bad breath, and cavities. By analyzing the microbial pathways that cause these issues, we can provide personalized nutrition recommendations that help to rebalance your oral microbiome and reduce your risk of oral health problems.
Insights for Weight & Metabolic Health
Common symptoms:
The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in producing and metabolizing various hormones and neurotransmitters that regulate metabolism, including leptin, ghrelin, and serotonin. Additionally, the microbiome can influence the breakdown and absorption of dietary nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, impacting energy metabolism and body weight.
We measure active microbial organisms and functions associated with macronutrient breakdown and other patterns around digestion, along with blood sugar, insulin resistance, and weight control. By analyzing the activity of your gut microbiome, we can identify any imbalances that may be affecting your metabolic health and make personalized recommendations to optimize your nutrition and support healthy weight management.
Insights for Sleep Quality
Common symptoms:
Your gut microbiome is crucial in regulating the body's circadian rhythm, the internal biological clock that helps regulate our sleep-wake cycle, hormone production, and other physiological processes. The gut microbiome also produces neurotransmitters and hormones that influence your circadian rhythm, such as serotonin for regulating sleep and mood and melatonin for regulating the sleep-wake cycle.
Our analysis focuses on specific microbial activities that impact your body's ability to produce and utilize these important neurotransmitters and hormones. We look for serotonin production-assisting pathways and microbial activities that contribute to the production of GABA, both of which are essential for regulating sleep and mood. We also identify activities that may negatively impact your ability to fall and stay asleep. These activities could include inflammation or imbalances in gut microbiota that produce harmful substances that affect brain function.
Insights for Heart Health
Common symptoms:
Our test provides valuable insights into your cardiovascular and heart health by analyzing the activity of your microbial and human gene expressions. Your gut microbiome plays a vital role in cardiovascular health through its impact on inflammation, cholesterol metabolism, and blood pressure regulation. While managing cholesterol is important, many other factors can contribute to poor cardiovascular health, including oxidative stress, endothelial function, kidney function, and vitamin and mineral status.
Our analysis looks at specific indicators of high oxidative stress and activities that promote inflammation, both of which can have a significant impact on your cardiovascular and heart health. We also analyze your gut microbiome's impact on vascular health and cholesterol metabolism, two critical factors in maintaining a healthy heart.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does Viome work?
Every Viome journey begins with a test. We currently offer three types of Intelligence Tests, our most comprehensive being our Full Body Intelligence Test, which includes everything you get from our other tests and more. With our Full Body test, Viome analyzes the activities in your oral microbiome, gut microbiome, and cells using RNA (gene expression) sequencing, giving us the highest resolution of your body available. This is something unique to Viome, and it’s what enables us to give such precise and accurate recommendations! We analyze all of the gene expression in your body so our AI can sort through millions of data points which it then connects to the right food, nutrients, or ingredients you need.
Your body is like a chemistry set that is unique to you. Food and nutrients are like information that tells your body what to do. Every person needs a unique set of information to function optimally. Each of our tests come with up to 50+ health scores and your tailored recommendations, as well as the option to order your personalized or custom-made products that are determined by your test results. In this way, we’ve got you covered, from testing to taking action!
Is Viome a subscription service?
To get started, it is not required for you to subscribe to one of our plans which includes a test, recommendations, and products included as a bundle. You can do the test by itself, which, depending on the test you choose, includes up to 50+ health scores. Every test will also include your recommendations for food, supplements, and biotics. If you decide to order any of the products personalized for you after you receive your results, you can subscribe to any of them through your account. Please keep in mind that it can take up to two weeks to prepare supplement orders as we create every formula unique to every individual.
How long does it take to receive my results and recommendations?
Once we have received your sample(s) and you have completed your questionnaire, it will take about 2-3 weeks to receive your health scores and recommendations. If you have subscribed to your personalized products already, it will take between 5-14 days from the time you receive your results to the time you receive your products at your door.
How long do I follow Viome’s recommendations?
Viome analyzes your gene expression, which can be changed through diet and lifestyle. This allows us to monitor your health and recommend the most relevant food and nutrients for you right now. We recommend checking in with a retest every 4-6 months. To ensure maximum precision of your personalized products, we will update your formulas and/or blends when you retest if necessary.
How is Viome unique from other tests?
Viome is the only company that uses RNA sequencing technology to understand not just what microbes are there in your microbiome, but also what they are actively doing in you vs. someone else. Microbes can behave differently, both harmful and beneficial, in every person depending on their environment. Viome is also unique in that we analyze how your microbiome is interacting with you as a human host. You’re in a symbiotic relationship with your microbiome, and when it is performing suboptimally, your health can suffer.
Viome also takes a systems biology approach, which means we analyze the body as a whole, assessing cellular, molecular, organ, and tissue systems holistically to address the root cause of why important functions may not be working properly, leading to sickness or symptoms you may experience daily. We focus on root causes, not symptoms themselves. While some tests are focused on DNA, which never changes, we know that measuring superficial health markers won’t support you long-term or boost the resiliency of your body to cope with the internal and environmental stressors you face every single day.
